Experience and inspiration
Professional experience
I started my career making custom special event dresses, and then started working as a seamstress for a local Dallas fashion designer. In 2023 I was granted the oportunity to be costume designer for a production of Singin' in the Rain at Theatre Denton and that really cemented my passion for theatrical costuming. This year I moved to New York City and spent the lmajority of the year traveling all over the world as a contract stitcher and dresser both at sea on cruise ships and on land in regional theatres. My most exciting project this year was taking last year's production of Singin' in the Rain to the Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF) this summer in South Korea!
Inspiration
I have alwasy had deep love for vintage clothes and costumes from period and fantasy films. Eras of clothing that particularly inspire me are the golden age of hollywood, the Edwardian era and the Italian Renaissance.
